VP Vaping Review: Nicopure Labs – Evo and Purity

Nicopure Labs are an American company producing American made eliquids. I met Liam and the guys at Nicopure Labs at VapeJam UK this year and we spoke about the ranges that they have on offer. After the event Liam contacted me about doing a review on some of their products. There has been a delay on all my reviews and you can read about that by clicking here.

Nicopure Labs do three ranges Halo that are for the American market, Purity which is designed for the UK market and the most part is taken from the Halo range, bringing you a selection of tobacco, menthol and gourmet flavours and eVo which brings you a selection of fruit flavours.

I have a selection from the Purity and eVo ranges to review. Purity are a 70VG/30PG blend and eVo are a 50/50 blend. All juices can be bought in 0, 6, 12, 18 and 24mg nicotine strengths and at present can be bought in 10ml and 30ml bottles, pricing varies depending on the vendor.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Dripex DBOX 30W @ 14watts, Aspire Triton1 with 1.8ohm coil
  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil

Scent: a very ripe Cantaloupe Melon

Flavour: this is a very true crisp clean tasting melon a little over sweet but I don’t think you could come much closer other than eating the fruit itself, though I will say that the taste left in the mouth is, as if you had eaten the fruit. An elegant ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

Apple Pom Smoothie

Scent: a light sweet crisp apple

Flavour: this is a beautifully light apple and almost creamy vape. The creaminess you get when pureeing the fruit. I think that there is a small amount of coolant to help generate the desired flavour. A very pleasant vape, I’m not a fan of coolants, but it has affected the vape for me and this juice has been mixed very well. Once again an excellent ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

Backwoods Blueberry

Scent: a very dark berry, almost like a blackberry

Flavour: well this is like no other blueberry I have had, it is most definitely a berry and like the scent I find it very dark or very ripe. It is a much thicker, fuller flavour than your usual blueberry. I’m not saying that it’s not a blueberry but different to what you will find in the UK. It is a very satisfying vape just not what I was expecting, It is an ADV.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

Grape Vape

Scent: there is are tones of a sharp grape and a perfume of candied grape.

Flavour: For me the grape comes across juicy and slightly sweet on the inhale and a little sour on the exhale. I have not found this one to my liking, but that may just because I’m not a huge fan of grapes.

VP Review Rating: 5/10

Berry Blast

Scent: the slightest hint of mixed berries.

Flavour: so my first thoughts are drawn to parma violets, the sweets. In the background there is hints of mixed berries there is also a slight tart/sourness to the exhale. I was a little disappointed with this, I love a mixed berry vape and this just didn’t do it for me.

VP Review Rating: 4/10

Scent: it comes across like a very buttery biscuit.

Flavour:  my first thoughts to this juice reminds me of a Chocolate bar you can get in the UK called a Caramac, Its a caramel flavoured bar. This juice has a lovely caramel tone to it though I did find it overly sweet. For those of you with a sweet tooth it is definitely for you. Not an ADV for me, but for the occasional vape and feeling like something very sweet.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

Scent: a slight undertone of coconut, with menthol at the forefront.

Flavour: straight away you get a wonderful taste of fresh coconut flesh, as though the coconut had been freshly cracked open. Then on the exhale you get a hit from the menthol leaving you with a sweet taste in the mouth. I am not one for menthol vapes and I haven’t had the mix of coconut and menthol before and I must say I have really enjoyed this. This is an ADV for those of you who enjoy a menthol vape.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

Belgian Cocoa

Scent: It comes across to me like a very dark chocolate, with hints of chocolate brownie, I was also drawn to thoughts of a black fruity coffee.

Flavour: I found that a lot of chocolate juices are pleasant enough but are far to sweet, I think they have hit the nail on the head with this is very clever juice. Though there is a sweetness to it, but just enough. It reminds me of a dark chocolate truffle that has been coated in coco powder (a slightly course powder). Is it an ADV? surprisingly, yes I think it is.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

So to my conclusion, I feel that Nicopure Labs have made some good choices with the flavours and have something for everyone. I found with the eVo range came across much better over a 1.8ohm coil set up and I believe this range is an excellent move for people who have already moved to vaping but looking to experiment with fruit flavours. I found that the Purity range came across better on the 0.5ohm coil set up and very much for all vapers new and old. The websites are very good, which are easy to navigate and are informative.

All the juices are consistent and they feel like a very clean smooth vape. Personally the eVo range were a little harsh on the 0.5ohm set up, but I would put that down to the 50/50 ratio. They all produce a good amount of vapour. Though the bottles I received were samples they all came in plastic bottles with child safety caps.

If there was a negative point, it would be that neither the bottles or the website show you PG/VG ratios of the juice. I like to be able to see what ratio the liquids are.

Nicopure Labs are in the process of challenging the FDA and I wish them the best of luck.
