VP Vaping Review: Beard Vape Co

I am so excited to be doing this review, I’m that excited that my inside writing voice has gone very high pitch.

Beard Vape Co are an American company based in California and have been producing premium juice for a few years now and have quite a name for themselves. The first time I came across Beard was through VapeClub.co.uk a great company who source juices from all over the world.

Being a Pogonophile I love everything beardiful and so it had to be that I would have to, I mean HAVE TO try some juice from the Beard Vape Co. The one I tried was the No.5 and is the only one I had tried until this review, not really sure why, more circumstance than not wanting to. Anyway, I fell in love with the No.5 and have always kept a bottle in. I will be doing a review of this juice, but as you might gather, I like it.

I went to Vape Jam UK (as you might of gathered from previous posts) and so did Beard Vape Co. On planning my visit to Vape Jam, Beard was a must and it was the very first stand I went to, as my blog says and you can read that by clicking here.

When I got to the Beard stand I was met by Colbey (one the founders) and we exchanged beard compliments and I introduced myself and what I did. We spoke about the juices and the juices that they were recently promoting. Colbey asked if I would do a review of their products and I was overjoyed to say the least.

I was given for the purpose of review five of the six of the main line, a bottle of Punch, a bottle of Super Strudel and The Essentials range, three bottles which was a collaboration between Beard and Craft Vapery. I will cover all of these within this review.

I had always wondered why the juices were numbered and randomly numbered at that, so I found out. The two Bates brothers and Colbey set out to produce some juices and created up to a hundred different flavours and then put them out in their shop to let people test them out. After a lot of feed back they came up with the three original flavours No.5, No.32 and No.88 and then added the further three No.51, No. 64 and No.71. They had just numbered the juices to start with and found that it was hugely popular and so stuck with it, if you’d like to read the full story click here.

At present you can get these juices from VapeClub.co.uk;

  • Beard Vape Co – 15ml at £8.49 and 30ml at £15.99 they come in 0, 3, 6, 12 and 18mg nicotine strengths and varying VG/PG which I will state later.
  • The Essentials – 30ml at £15.99 they come in 0, 3, 6 and 12mg nicotine strength and are a 70VG/30PG mix.
  • Punch – 30ml at £16.99 they come in 0,3 6 and 12mg nicotine strength and are a 70VG/30PG mix.
  • Super Strudel – 30ml at £16.99 they come in 0, 3, 6 and 12mg nicotine strength and are a 70VG/30PG mix.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
  • Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 45watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

No.5 – New York cheesecake with strawberries on top, 60VG/40PG

Scent: it smells like a very rich vanilla cheesecake

Flavour: I LOVE THIS JUICE. Though that statement doesn’t really help you, the taste is of a wonderfully rich, very creamy vanilla cheesecake. The buttery biscuit base is undertones in the background and the strawberries are fresh and the last thing you get on the exhale. The strawberries are just ripe so not as fruity. If you love a creamy vape then this is the baby for you. It’s an ADV for me. This reminds me of a cheesecake that is served in a very good restaurant in London called Joe Allen’s, amazing food (if you go, order the burger it’s not on the menu but it will be the best burger you will ever have).

No.32 – A delicious cinnamon funnel cake, 60VG/40PG

Scent: a rich creamy cinnamon

Flavour: both on the inhale and the exhale you are hit with mouth watering taste of sweet cinnamon with a tantalising flavour of moist cake as a finishing tone. It is quite a sweet vape making it not quite an ADV for me, but certainly pleasant from time to time.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

No.51 – Custard with a dash of custard, 85VG/15PG

Scent: like a concentrated custard

Flavour: this is all about the custard, a rich creamy American custard envelopes the palate delivering a dream vape for all custard lovers. Personally I find it a little heavy.  I call it an American custard as there seems to be a difference between the flavourings used in American and UK custard vapes. In a previous review I spoke about different food companies making their own variant on custard and it’s down to the individual to whether they like it or not. This is not my type of custard and so I’m afraid this is not for me,  it is still a good well balanced juice.

N0.64 – A unique blue raspberry hibiscus twist, 70VG/30PG

Scent: a smell of sweet berries

Flavour: for me the hibiscus takes control of the juice, with the blue raspberry coming out in the background on the exhale. Its not overly sweet, maybe even a little sour, like when you’ve had a cup of fruit tea. There is wonderful smoothness to the vape making it very much an ADV for me, though I long for a bit more of the blue raspberry to make it complete for me.

No.71 – Sweet and sour sugar peach, 70VG/30PG

Scent: fresh peaches

Flavour: this is a delightful juice, I’m loving it that much it has all gone. The peach is with you from beginning to end bouncing around your taste buds, slightly sour on the inhale and becoming wonderfully sugar coated on the exhale. I will be needing to get myself some more of this. Another fine ADV for me, sublime juice Beard, thank you.

PUNCH

Scent: an ever so slightly spicy fruit mix, just like a fruit punch.

Flavour: this is crazy stuff, it tastes just like a very well made fruit punch you can almost taste the alcohol (obviously there isn’t any). Reminds me of parties and finding a huge bowl in the kitchen full of roughly chopped fruit and a liquid with a rosy tint to it and the smell, the smell umm. I never moved too far away from that bowl and the juice has not lasted too long either. Definitely an ADV, but could do with a bit more sun to be able to sit out in the garden and enjoy this juice. Maybe Beard could help with that too?

VP Review Rating: 9/10

Super Strudel

Scent: strawberry jam with a hint of pastry

Flavour: this divine, beautiful juice hits the spot every time if you are a pastry lover. The delightful taste of lightly toasted pastry encapsulates a superb fresh strawberry jam on the inhale which is then met with this sensation of being sugar coated on the exhale. This is one of my favourite pastry vapes to date and it won’t be long before I need some more. I believe that it is meant to replicate what we in the UK would call a Pop Tart, but this juice takes Pop Tarts to a whole new level.  Is it an ADV? oh my goodness yes, yes!

The Essentials

I was intrigued by this range, a collaboration between Beard Vape Co and Craft Vapery. The idea is that they have come up with three juices that will take you through the day and hitting your every vaping need through that day. Umm, I’m not so sure about that, I believe that it is a mountain of a task to come up with something that would hit every spot for any vaper. As individuals we all have our own flavour profiles and its not very often I come across another vaper who has exactly the same. The beauty of the vaping industry that there are vast amount of flavours out there and so can attend to all the different profiles. You might say that I’ve taken the range far too literal, that it is only a suggestion. Please don’t get me wrong, I love the idea, but does it work? will this range satisfy my daily needs? So let me review the juices and the concept.

For the review of the concept, I vaped only these three juices for three days. For the first two days I vaped them in order, on the third I mixed them up, vaping the Night in the morning, Morning in the Afternoon and Afternoon in the evening/night. Lets see what I found out.

Morning

Scent: sweet creamy lemon, with a hint of a doughy smell

Flavour: a delightfully sweet breakfast bakery coated with what tastes like a sugary syrup on the exhale with a slightly doughy back note. Funny, I don’t seem to get any of the lemon that I could smell in the juice. If you were to take the pecans out of a Pecan Plait it tastes just like that. A very pleasant vape and an excellent wake up juice for me.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

Afternoon

Scent: lime is the strongest note with a hint of mint in the background.

Flavour: Mojito, Mojito, Mojito! What a great way to start the afternoon, the lime is the fullest note that is sweeten off and the mint (not menthol) is in the background. Usually Mojitos (vaping or drinking) are not really my thing, but the one thing I did notice is that vaped quite a lot of it. So that must be a plus point, not to hard hitting a really good juice for me.

Evening

Scent: a strong smell of buttercream with cake in the background

Flavour: on the inhale its all about the rich moist dark cake and then joined by a sublime smooth velvety buttercream. It’s not a vanilla cake, more like a coco powder cake, but chocolate is not a tone I get and that is why I put a dark cake. A little too sweet for my liking. It’s still a very good juice for the occasional  vape. Is it the last thing I’d want to vape at the end of my day? I’m not sure.

VP Review Rating: 7/10

My first observation is DON’T mix the time of the day up, does not work. After vaping the juices for two days in order and then mixing them up for the third did not work, just felt weird.

They are, have been crafted to be in a certain order for a reason. The juices stand out on there own, but to my surprise, compliment each other as the day progresses with the Afternoon cleansing the palate for the Night juice. I think the range is very clever and works really well. I’m sorry Beard Vape Co and Craft Vapery for ever doubting you.

Ok, so will I use these as my every day all day vape? probably not, but then for more I vape a huge variation of juices because I have the luxury of that option. I do certainly see it suiting other vapers.

On a personal level I really like a fruity vape and would like that as part of the vaping daily ritual. But it is a fantastic concept and as I said the juices stand out, they are excellent juices on their own and put together they work exquisitely well.

So to my conclusion, I find Beard Vape Co have made some magnificent juices and there is something for everyone. The juices show great consistency, the highest quality and produce some excellent vapour. I love the logo and the website is slick, smooth and easy to navigate. The juice comes in glass bottles with child safety caps and pipettes. The labels are amazing with all relevant information. The labels are textured, they feel like a woven texture, just adding to what is a quality product from a company have thought long and hard about every detail. You can see why this company has had so much success. I look forward to seeing what else comes out from Beard Vape Co and I will also be taking a look at the Craft Vapery in the near future.

I’d like to thank Colbey at Beard Vape Co for giving me the juices for review.
