VP Vaping Review: Twelve Monkeys Vapor Co.- Discovery & Intelligence

I am delighted to bring you a review of Twelve Monkeys Vapor Co for a couple of reasons, firstly they have some great juice, but more importantly to me what a great bunch of guys at  they are at Twelve Monkeys.

I first met Michael and the guys from Twelve Monkeys at Vape Jam UK you can read about that here, where I had a fair long chat with Michael and took some photos, which are on my Instagram page, here is a couple of them.

This is from Vape Jam UK

This is from Vaper Expo UK
Until this point, I hadn’t got around to trying Twelve Monkeys so Michael introduced me to their original lines. As I went to pick up a new drip tip (which come individually wrapped) I picked up a packet that had two in it!

I looked up at Michael “look at that!” and laughed. Michael said “don’t use that, keep it, its your lucky charm”. Nothing better than a lucky vaping charm, so I still have it, picture below.

We spoke about how I would like to do a review on Twelve Monkeys, Michael asked that after the event I should email him and he would sort something out. I did contact Michael after the event and didn’t hear anything back, now I knew that Michael and his team were globe trotting with all the different events worldwide and so was not surprised.

However, our paths were to cross again at Vaper Expo UK. As I walked up to their stand, Michael spotted me and almost came bounding out from the stand to greet me, it was like the meeting of old friends. Michael was ever so apologetic for his lack of response and explained the situation, which was as I thought. We chatted for a while and then Michael gave me some juices for the purpose of review and also a MOD bag with an empty unicorn bottle, which I will also be reviewing.

Twelve Monkeys Vapor Co are a Canadian company based in Ontario. I was given two juices from their Discovery range and two juices from their Intelligence range. Though there are several vendors in the UK who stock Twelve Monkeys, I will show pricing and links to VapeClub.co.uk.

You can get Twelve Monkeys at VapeClub.co.uk, they sell them in 30ml bottles at £16.99 and you can get them in 0, 3, 6 and 12mg nicotine strength. They are of varying VG/PG and will mention them in the review.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
  • Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 45watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

Conga Cream – Discovery line 70VG/30PG

Scent: fresh strawberries with a hint of cream, smell a little like strawberry chewits

Flavour: on the inhale you are hit with this fine fresh strawberry which is enveloped in a delightful cream, on the exhale you have much of the same, but there is almost like another cream comes in to join and makes for a wonderful vape. For moments after you are left with the taste on the palate. There are a lot of strawberry and cream vapes out there, but for me this takes it to a whole new level. An ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

Tropika – Discovery line 90VG/10PG

Scent: exotic fruit punch

Flavour: Wow, just wow, this juice certainly packs a punch of the exotic variety! I love my fruity vapes and this hits every level for me. The blend is so good that it is very difficult to define the different fruit within it, I feel I get (and I maybe wrong) hints of pineapple, something of a  citrus note and I believe that there maybe some guava as it is so smooth. You are hit with an explosion of exotic fruits from the inhale, increasing on the exhale. Definitely an ADV for me.

I would take note that with the high VG content that some tanks will struggle with it, I found the Cleito was good to start, but struggled with heavy vaping. I would recommend dripping. I had no problems in the Triton2 and other tanks I’ve tried it in (please ask if you’d like more information).

VP Review Rating: 10/10

Kanzi – Intelligence line 80VG/20PG

Scent: strawberries with a hint of watermelon in the background

Flavour: I love this juice, a beautifully delicate, refreshing vape. On the inhale a mouth watering watermelon which is joined by fresh strawberries and a hint of kiwi on the exhale. The kiwi becomes more prominent at a higher wattage. I’ve enjoyed this so much I’ve run out, is it an ADV? yes, yes, YES!

VP Review Rating: 10/10

Mangabeys – Intelligence line 80VG/20PG

Scent: Pineapple

Flavour: its funny, when I first looked at the name, I thought of mangos and then I smelt it and thought strange, that doesn’t smell like mangos. S0 I started out a little confused.

There is a superb smoothness to this juice which the guava brings to it. The pineapple is soft on the inhale with the mango joining it on the exhale. Pineapple and mango can both be a little sharp at times, not with this juice, the excellent blend of guava within soothes the other main fruits making it yet another ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 9/10

O-RangZ – Intelligence line 80VG/20PG

Scent: cereal and milk.

Flavour: at breakfast time as a child, having my daily cereal. I would wait for my mother turn her back and I would sprinkle some sugar on top of my cereal. For me I loved a little extra sugar, I do have a sweet tooth.

On the inhale I get fruit loops with a creamy rich sweet milk come rushing in behind encapsulating the loops. With a little bit of a throat hit. On to the exhale i get the fruit loops and milk swirling around in my mouth leaving me with a sweet tip to my tongue. Not quite an ADV for me, but certainly makes for a great start to the day. I know there are a lot of cereal vape fans out there and this is a must try.

MOD carry bag

Something different for me, an apparel review. I have always carried my devices in my pocket, but as the devices have grown in size the more uncomfortable it has become. Having to take my device out of my pocket every time I wanted to sit down or get in the car. I have been aware of MOD bags, but never thought to get one. Now I have one kindly given to me By Michael of Twelve Monkeys for the purpose of review. So I have put it through its paces and can give you my findings.

The bag it self is made from a rubber lined canvas witch also has a soft cotton inner sock in the main compartment which is there to protect your device. The front pocket is elasticated to allow for larger or more bottles. The pocket has an embrioded design on the front. There is also a draw string and a karabiner to hook on to a belt. It comes in either black or a camouflage print.

It is excellently made and certainly takes some bashing about and pulled at. Wearing it I could quite easily clip the bag onto my belt loops on my jeans (as seen in the picture) but for more security, I undid my belt and threaded it on, as the karabiner was to small for my wide belt to clip on. I felt very comfortable wearing it, even forgetting about it when sitting or getting in the car as the bag easily drifted to either side of my leg. I wouldn’t want to run with it attached as it could do some damage with it being so close to my crown jewels. But hey, I don’t run anywhere and if you were going to, I would advise to hang on to it.

I do question the size of the main pocket, though all my devices sit very well in it, I don’t think something like the Wismec RX200 would fit. To give you an idea of size, I can get my Joyetech Cuboid and the supplied unicorn bottle into it with no problem at all.

An excellent piece of equipment that I now use on a regular basis.

So, to my conclusion, Twelve monkeys brings you an excellent selection of juices, very much guided towards the fruity vapes. The juices are consistent through the range and they produce a fantastic amount of vapour, clouds galore. The glass bottles have child safety caps and pipettes. The labels have great designs and I love the jungle theme. You should check out their website, it is amazing, a lot of time and effort has gone into it. Filled with information about products, there is a full list of distributors – worldwide. If you like your vape tricks then you should check out their website, with loads of videos. Their official Vape Tricks team is called VapeBenders which you can also follow on Instagram @VapeBenders. They brought out a new line earlier in the year called Triumph and I hear that they have just brought out a new range of milkshake vapes and I love a milkshake vape! I look forward to trying out their new juices, I think I will always have something from Twelve Monkeys in my cupboard.

I would highly recommend going and checking out Twelve Monkeys.
