Smokey Jones Vape are a UK company based in South Wales and they launched only a few weeks ago with three juices ‘The Originals’.
Smokey Jones did a sample giveaway as part of their launch, I was then contacted by Smokey Jones and asked if I would do a review of their range. I said that I would be delighted to do so and they sent me out their range for the purpose of review.
Growing up I loved my Western films and TV series. The likes of Bonanza and the Lone Ranger were regulars and loving films like the Magnificent Seven, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Fist Full of Dollars and one of my favourites The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (see trailer here).
So it was with great delight that Smokey Jones had used one of my favourite Western movies as a range of juices, certainly brought a smile to my face and a reminder that I need to search out this film and watch it again.
You can buy their juices direct from http://www.SmokeyJonesVape.co.uk at £6.99 for 20ml or buy all three for £20.00. They come in 0, 3 and 6mg nicotine strengths and they are a 80VG/20PG mix.
The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.
With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.
- Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
- Innokin CoolFire plus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil
- Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 55watts, Geekvape Tsunami 24 with Dual Clapton 0.8ohm coils, wicked with Kendo Cotton
Scent: I’m getting a selection of berries with creamy and biscuit tones in the background.
Flavour: when I first tried this juice I was drawn to a reminder of Chewits, a combination of strawberry and blackcurrant Chewits. Continuing to vape it changed to more like a fruity cereal crunch. On the inhale I get a creamy mixed berries, blackberry at the front with a strawberry followed by a hint of blueberry. On the exhale it still has the berries but there are undertones of a cereal/biscuit making it very pleasant indeed. It is definitely an ADV for me.
VP Review Rating: 8/10
Scent: cherry cola.
Flavour: I am a bit of a coke snob and when drinking coke I only like Coca Cola and don’t like what I call ‘Rola Cola’ generally supermarket branded coke. I find that most Cola vapes taste like ‘Rola Cola’. I am also not a huge fan of menthol.
When I tried this for the first time, I was like, why would you put Cola and Menthol together, would I add a menthol syrup to my Coca Cola and drink it? No I wouldn’t.
But this isn’t about me, this is about a juice that has been brought to the market that is different and guided towards those who enjoy a menthol vape.
On the inhale I get a strong menthol hit which as it gets to the back of the throat has an undertone of cherry cola. On the exhale the cherry cola comes more into its own and I have to say that it is one of the best cola flavours I have tried, it did remind me a little of fizzy cola bottle sweets you can get. As a juice it vapes well, but flavour combination doesn’t work for me.

Scent: a citrusy fruit cocktail with definite notes of peach and pineapple.
Flavour: I am a huge fruit vape fan, and this delivers a mixed fruit combination that I think is different to what is on the market right now. It’s a very citrusy vape, on the inhale I’m getting the peach out front with the pineapple behind it, which is fantastic mixing as normally the pineapple can be overwhelming. With an orange as an undertone, on the exhale the orange comes into its own with the peach and pineapple drifting backwards and right at the end the lime comes rocketing out to finish you with a sucker punch, truly divine flavour combination. Very refreshing. I didn’t get any raspberry, but I can cope with that. I did find it a little harsh on the inhale, not off putting but there. If they were smooth that out, then this would be an amazing juice. It is still an ADV for me.

So to my conclusion, Smokey Jones Vape have brought an interesting selection of juices to the market, a selection I feel are very different to what’s out there. The juice is consistent through the range and they produce some excellent vapour. The glass bottles come with child safety caps, tamper rings and pipettes. I’m not keen on the style of pipette they have gone for, as the tip is bulbous rather than pointy, making it fine to use when dripping but can be a bit of pain when filling a tank. The labels on the bottles have some excellent design work and stand out well. The website is great, very clear and easy to use. I am assuming by the theme that the guys at Smokey Jones are Western fans too, a little addition to the website would be links to films and TV shows they have enjoyed. It’s not a necessity, just thought it would be a nice touch. They have just announced that they are launching another two juices tomorrow (26.08.16) ‘The Outlaws’ range. I am definitely interested in seeing what else they come up with. They are a very young company coming into the market at possibly a difficult time, I wish them luck on their venture.
