VP Vaping Review: Simply Vapour

Simply Vapour are an American company based in Minnesota. They have three ranges, an Orignal with forty-five PG based flavours, Premium Blend with ten flavours in an 80VG/20PG mix and the Platinum Series with nine flavours and also an 80VG/20PG mix.

Last year I attended my first event Vape Jam UK 2 (if you would like to check out my visit please click here) I met a gentleman called Colin, it was a very brief meeting. But in October last year I attended Vaper Expo UK – The Return (you can check out my visit by clicking here) and I met Colin again with his newly formed distribution company Gorilla Vapour, it was great to see him and have a chat about the future for him and his company.

This year I went to Vape Jam UK 3 in London and had an excellent time (if you would like to check out my visit then click here). To my surprise I bumped into Colin again, it was fantastic to see Colin again and it was great to see the growth of the company. This time we spoke about some reviews that he would like me to do. Colin gave me for the purpose of review his own range Tornado Pro (check out my review by clicking here), Vapour Bakers (check out my review by clicking here), Vice City (check out my review by clicking hereand Efizz (you can check out my review by clicking here).

I most recently went to Vaper Expo UK – The Big Weekend (you can check out my visit by clicking here). It was an awesome weekend and I was to meet up with Colin once again and he had a much bigger stand this time. On the Friday evening I went to the Vapouround Awards (you can check out my visit by clicking here) where I saw Simply Vapour come third in the Best Tobacco category and Simply Vapour are being distributed by Colin and Gorilla Vapour, after a chat with Colin and Brady the following day I was asked if I would do a review of some of their juices. I was given five of the range from their Premium Blend for the purpose of review and these are what I have for you today.

I have mentioned many times before that going to events and trying juice can come across as being amazing and then you buy some, get it home and into your own device and it doesn’t quite live up to expectation. Please read on and let’s take a look and see what I think of these juices.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 70watts, Geekvape Tsunami 24 with Dual Clapton 0.8ohm coils, wicked with Kendo Cotton
  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
  • Innokin CoolFire plus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

Blue Raspberry

Scent: blue raspberry.

Flavour: oh my goodness this is so good! Blue raspberry is actually one of my favourite flavours and this is probably the best take on it I have ever tried. Traditionally companies go for a slushie taste to the blue raspberry. But when it is done without the slushie tones and leaves the blue raspberry in its purest form that is when it takes me to seventh heaven. That is how this juice has been done. Outstanding.

On the inhale I get a hint to the blue raspberry which fills out right at the back of the inhale. On to the exhale and it blossoms coating the palate with the divine full-bodied fruit. Is it an ADV? Oh yes it is!

VP Review Rating: 11/10

Pom Berry Mist

Scent: pomegranate with hints of berries.

Flavour: oh my what a delightfully refreshing juice. Another fruity number with lovely citrus tones, a pomegranate that isn’t too dominant and hints to mixed berries as I finish the vape.

On the inhale I get slightly sweetened citrus notes which is followed in by a light pomegranate. On to the exhale and though the pomegranate pushes further forward it doesn’t take it over. The citrus notes drop further back and allows for the mixed berries to pop up right at the end of the exhale, leaving the taste of sweet berries on my palate. An ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 9/10

Nilla Mint

Scent: sweet mint.

Flavour: it is well documented that I’m not a fan of menthol/mint vapes. But I have tried enough to be able to be constructive and know what is a good juice. This juice brings a mix of peppermint at the front with a fairly strong vanilla behind it. It is a blend that doesn’t suit me.

On the inhale I get a peppermint that builds up and gives the slightest of throat hits. On to the exhale and the peppermint continues but starts to die down. With a vanilla that comes in, still sitting behind the peppermint but I know it is there. It is not for me.

VP Review Rating: 5/10

 Apple Pie á la Mode

Scent: apple pie with a creamy back note.

Flavour: this juice is rather good and very clever. The apple pie with its light dusting of cinnamon, comes across very delicate. During the vape I don’t get any ice-cream until right at the end, as I finish I taste the vanilla ice-cream sitting on my palate. Quite an odd sensation but in a good way.

On the inhale I get hints to a buttery pastry and the slightest apple right at the back of the inhale. On to the exhale and the apple pushes forward, sweet and juicy. A cinnamon pops up to give me a dusting. The apple pie is not ‘in your face’ but more of a delicate slither of pie. As I finish my palate is taken over by a wonderful creamy vanilla ice-cream, I also get a hint to the buttery pastry. An ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

Signature Tobacco – Came third in the Vapouround Awards, Best Tobacco 2017

Scent: tobacco.

Flavour: I don’t normally vape tobacco flavours. However, recently I have come across some tobaccos that I have enjoyed. But it has been mainly because they have had additions to them, like caramel, nuts and other things. This juice is a pure tobacco and I had given myself the expectation that I wasn’t going to enjoy it.

Also I think I find with tobacco vapes it is hard to give an explanation of the flavour and to give the justice that it deserves.

I have to say that I have found this juice very enjoyable. I’m going to say that it is a golden leaf that comes across dry and sweet to taste. How to define dry, for me a lot of tobacco vapes come across like a dark leaf which is fruity and moist. So it is the complete opposite. For me it comes across more like a cigarette (high end cigarette) than a cigar which I find with most tobacco vapes.

On the inhale I get this very light tobacco and then on to the exhale it fills out giving me this dry golden leaf with these sweet tones in the background. It’s not an ADV for me, but I have really enjoyed it and I can see myself quite happily sitting with a pint vaping on this juice. It has to be one of the best cigarette tasting tobaccos I have ever had.

VP Review Rating: 9/10

So to my conclusion, I find that Simply Vapour have brought some excellent juices to the market. All deliver a full-bodied flavour and produce some excellent vapour. These juices are not simple by any stretch of the imagination. I have been really impressed with mixing quality of these juices and there have been some real surprises. One of the joys of reviewing is coming across new juices that I look at the label to see what it is and think I may not enjoy this and the surprise that it is in fact a great juice and to taste the quality it delivers.

The samples I received came in unicorn style bottles with child safety caps and tamper rings. They also came in boxes, they are all TPD/TRPR compliant. I love the simplistic labelling all in bright colours which make them stand out. They have a great website which is clear and easy to navigate. The Gorilla Vapour website is a great site with a modern feel to it. At present Simply Vapour juices are not showing as available, I assume waiting on stock. I will update this when I know any different. Colin, the UK needs this juice in their lives.

Thanks to Brady, a pleasure to meet you and you have some great juice.
