NewGen Tech Co are a Chinese company based in Shenzhen. They are a new company and have two pieces of hardware to their name.
I was contacted by NewGen and asked if I would do a review for them. I was sent the Quark RDA (check out my review by clicking here) and the Meson RTA for the purpose of review. The Meson is what I have for you today, there are a lot of RTA’s coming out on to the market at the moment. Read on and see my thoughts of this one from a new company and how it fairs.
What comes in the box:
- 1 x Meson RTA (2ml)
- 1 x Bubble Glass (4ml)
- 1 x User Manual
- 1 x Alan Key
- 1 x 510 Adaptor
- 4 x Spare Grub Screws
- 3 x Spare O-Rings
- 2 x Pre-made Fused Clapton Coils
Taking a look at the box
On the front of the box you will find the name of the device, company logo and the company web address. On the back you will find the company logo, company contact information, box contents and some warning symbols.
On the top side you will find a QR authenticity check, a ISBN barcode and a list of colours the tank comes in with a tick indicating the one in the box. On the bottom side the company logo.
On another side the company social media links and on the final side information about the tank.
The Meson RTA specifications:
- 24mm Diameter with superior stainless steel and glass construction
- 2ML E-Liquid capacity / 4ML with a bubble glass tank
- Staggered two-post deck for dual coil configurations, easy installation
- 18-holes Honeycomb direct bottom airflow system creating nice flavor
- Wide bore 810 drip tip
- Threaded Top Fill Design
- Gold-plated 510 Contact Pin
- Colours – Rainbow, Black and Stainless Silver (which is the one I have)
The size of the device:
- Height – 34mm (Not including drip tip and 510 pin)
- Width – 24mm
Taking a look at the device
At the top of the tank you will find a wide bore (Goon style) delrin drip tip. The top cap is a screw fit cap which gives you access to the fill holes at the top of the tank. The top cap has some grooves cut in to help with unscrewing and taking the cap off.
At the base of the tank you will find two large airflow holes which are adjustable, the adjustable ring is very smooth. On the base you will find the name of the tank, the companies name, a couple of warning symbols and the model number. The 510 pin is gold plated, protruding and adjustable.
The chamber has the name of the tank on one side and the company logo on the other. On the inside of the chamber (below bottom left) there is some lovely doming to the camber and quite a lot of threading for attaching the deck.
Taking a look at the deck below, its an interesting dual post design with one screw access from the top and the other from the side. The airflow is a honeycomb design with nine holes for each side and on each side of the airflow there is some good sized holes for wicking.
Thoughts and Conclusions
Oh my! This is a great tank, I have been loving using it and for several reasons. The main one, the flavour from this tank is amazing. I am usually an RDA man and this tank is certainly on par with some of the regular RDA’s that I use.
The build deck is great and quite roomy. The one negative I would point out is, when using flat wire the side entry screws twist the wire and a little manipulation is needed to sort them out.
I have to hold my hands up, I’m not the best at wicking sometimes and that is why in some cases I don’t normally get on with RTA’s. However, I have wicked this tank several times and had no issues whatsoever (just in case the first time was a fluke).
The airflow fully open is just perfect for me, I would say that it is slightly restrictive, it is no wind tunnel by any stretch of the imagination.
I have not put this tank down since I started using it, I’m a dessert fan and the flavours are tasting sensational through this tank. Great build quality to it, easy to build on and great to use. What more could you want?
This is probably the best RTA I have had to date (I haven’t reviewed all the ones I have) and my previous favourite was the OBS Engine V1.
- Great build quality
- Awesome Flavour
- A roomy build deck
- No leaking issues
I don’t really have any cons, but need to point out that using flat wire does require a little more work as the side entry screws twist flat wire.
