VP Vaping Review: Illusions Vapor

Illusions Vapor are a Canadian company. They have two ranges The Awakening and Chapter III all come in a 70VG/30PG mix.

I was at the Vaper Expo UK back in October and met the guys from RVG Distribution and the guys from Twelve Monkeys (which I have done reviews for, click the links below to check them out). Illusions are the sister company of Twelve Monkeys and RVG Distribution are the official distributors of both brands. I was asked if I would do a review of the newly ‘tweaked’ The Awakening range and that is what I have for you today. They were sent out to me for the purpose of review.

These are a shortfill range and so I have added nicotine shots. Nicotine can sometimes change the flavour of a juice or make the juice react differently, so for me to test properly I think it is important to have it as it would be vaped by a customer. Please read on and let’s take a look and see what I think of these juices.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Vaporesso Tarot 200W @ 70watts, Geekvape Tsunami 24 with Dual Clapton 0.8ohm coils, wicked with Kendo Cotton
  • Vaptio Solo II @ 50watts with 0.25ohm coil
  • Sigelei/KAOS Spectrum 220W @ 40watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

Taste Of Gods

Scent: there is definitely coconut and also a creamy fruity smell to it too.

Flavour: I do love a touch of coconut in a vape and it really adds something to this delightful fruity number. With a nectarine to start and a pineapple joining it, makes for a sensational ADV for me.

On the inhale I get a burst of nectarine hitting my taste buds with a hint of coconut, lovely sharp and sweet notes. On to the exhale and the pineapple jumps in to join the nectarine which slowly fades. The coconut being  a constant back note. The vape leaves me with a sweet pineapple coating to my palate.

VP Review Rating: 10/10

Red Magic

Scent: mainly pear and melon with a hint of strawberry.

Flavour: What a lovely fruity and refreshing vape this is. I find that pear sometimes isn’t done very well, can come across a little bit candied. This juice reminds of biting into a very ripe pear, the ones that have too much juice to handle.

On the inhale I get this fantastic juicy pear which builds into the inhale. On to the exhale and the pear just explodes over my palate and is accompanied by a melon. A splash of strawberry is there also giving a soft creamy finish to the vape. Most certainly an ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 10/10

Mamba

Scent: this smells like apple pie? With a hint of blueberry.

Flavour: ha ha, well that was a surprise, it is apple pie! I’m not sure what I was thinking this would be and the name certainly doesn’t give any hints. Another fruit blend maybe? Which I suppose it is, but there is an addition of a butter pastry in there too. Mainly apples with a sharp blueberry joins in. With me being a dessert fan, I would have liked the pastry to push through more.

On the inhale I get a rich taste of cooked apples. On to the exhale and the apples become a much bolder and fuller flavour. Joining the apple there is this sharp shot of blueberry that comes in. In the background and the palate is left with a soft buttery pastry. Another ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 9/10

So to my conclusion, I find that Illusions have brought three excellent juices to the market. All delivering a full-bodied flavour and vapour production. From what I am lead to believe is that these have been tweaked from the ones that came out originally. It has been a long time since I tried the originals so I can’t really comment on what changes have been made. However as they stand these are some fine juices and if you like your fruity blends you should possible give these a try.

The samples I received came in gorilla style bottles with child safety caps and tamper rings. I love the label designs and some great foiling which makes them stand out. They have a great website which is clear and easy to navigate.

VP Review Rating explained, when scoring a juice I’m looking at the quality of the juice, how close I feel the flavour is to what it says it is and how I find it stands alongside other flavours of the same type on the market:

11/10 = Awesome Stuff

8/10 – 10/10 = Differing levels of excellence

5/10 – 7/10 = Differing levels of Goodness

0/10 – 4/10 = I have issues with it

I try to write my review to be compliant with the TPD/TRPR regulations that came into force on the 20/05/17. If you would like any further details on the regulations, please click here.
