VP Hardware Review: Tyro Kit by Vaptio

Vaptio are a Chinese company producing a selection of hardware items for the market. Vaptio were also known as Viva Kita but they have now made the decision to produce solely under the name Vaptio.

I have done several reviews for Vaptio already, here follows a list of the reviews which you can click and check out;

I was contacted by Ecig Wizard who stock and distribute Vaptio products and asked if I would do a review for them. Ecig Wizard and Vaptio have come together and collaborated to bring out a new starter kit. So, today I have the Tyro Kit which is their newest starter kit. How does this version fair? Well, read on and I’ll tell you my thoughts on the device.

Taking a look at the device

In the images below you will see a red V inside a hole in the top cap, by twisting the top cap it will open up the filling hole which is a good size for unicorn style bottles.

Looking the images below you can see the fire button with the V on it and there is a white LED light around the fire button. You can also see the micro USB port for charging which is located directly behind the fire button.

On the base not only can you see some information about the device, but there is also a decent sized vent hole. The other image shows the top of the device without the tank attached.

The images show the different possibilities with the airflow, a couple of holes for a tight mouth to lung draw to fully open for a direct to lung hit.

The images below show the inside of the tank of the device, where the coil goes and the coil.

Thoughts and Conclusions

To start with this is a lovely looking device and it sits nice in the hand, I also like how they have done the paint job on it. I find it a great size, feels good in the hand and is also pocket friendly.

I’m a little surprised that Vaptio didn’t put in the ‘switch off after ten minutes with no use’ feature that has been used in so many of their other devices.

It is an interesting design and easy to use. To change the airflow, you twist the whole of the tank. To fill the tank you need to twist the top bit of the tank 180 degrees to see the fill hole. I suppose the only down side I see from this system is that you will need to reset your airflow every time you fill it up.

Coils – interestingly Vaptio have designed their Cosmo coils around the Aspire Nautilus coils which means that you can use the Nautilus coils in this device to, very clever. This gives the consumer not only a choice of coils to use but the majority of vape shops you go to will have Nautilus coils. I have no complaints about the Cosmo coils, they perform really well, great flavour and vapour production. Are they better than the Nautilus coils? I would need to do further tests to make a comparison. But what I can say is that through testing they have stood up very well.

I’ve really enjoyed using this device and can see it becoming a popular starter kit on the market. This slick, pocket friendly device with the ability to use Aspire Nautilus coils is a clever device. Certainly is a device that I would recommend to people starting out.

Pros

  • Great design
  • Easy to use
  • Interchangeable coils with Aspire Nautilus coils
  • Great taste
  • Great Airflow design
  • Easy fill system

Cons

I can’t think of any.
